Think about things like GPS vehicle tracking for example.

"Buddy, you were on your way home from Safeway, where you bought 3 bottles of wine. You got home at 1:43. By the way, you left the sun roof on your car open." "But I wasn't driving!" It gets worse. Think about GPS enabled cell phones and PDAs. Thought you turned it off? Are you sure it is "off"?
Think about your satellite TV receiver. It is never "off". Is it two way? No? That is probably good.
