Hmm not been on those roads, sounds like the south west of the county, here in the north of the county the problem tends to be that many of the roads are narrow, potholed and flanked by ditches with nothing to stop you falling into them while dodging the oncoming tractor with large trailer full of fresh cut (soon to be) silage.

Ah no there are signs saying Tralee as well as Tra Li, there are even signs saying Dingle as well as An DaingZan :). But to pronounce most of the names correctly it's best to read the bit in italics^WIrish.

Satellite is available of course - but the latency is horrible. It's OK unless you want (as I do) to run lots of ssh sessions across it. The wireless broadband offerings cover a lot of the area from high hills, it's just my luck that I'm in the shadow of another hill.

Oh there's DSL in Tralee, even in Listowel - heck even in Tarbert but where I am is nowhere near that densely populated :)
