No, I was trying to imply that 'GreyCloud' was that stupid. He is begining to sound like it. I don't know what his problem is, but I wish that he would grow up. He is not contributing anything useful with (his-her-its) posts (that I can see) and is about to be treated the same way as a couple of posters over in ALA, that is, posts are just ignored my me.

I am over being amazed. I now EXPECT stupidity in people, at least as far as computers are concerned. And computer software, MS especially.

1965 (maybe 64) was the first year I got to work on a computer. WAY back in high school. I have been in computers ever since, mostly.

I remember one example of programmer stupidity from back in the early 70's, when I was at my first mainframe shop.

Programmer brings problem listing to an advisor. (He who told me this story).

Advisor looks at listing for a while. He turns to the female programmer, tells her she's pregnant. She says, What??? Advisor points to COBOL listing, says you're missing a period. (The advisor told me that this was the second or third time she had had similar program problems.)

And this (missing period in a COBOL program) could have happened to a male programmer as well, and has happened to me, but I only remember the story because of the circumstances.

SYS-360 COBOL F didn't deal with missing periods all that well, IIRC. --
