Why I use a Mac, anno 2006 3733
Correct, that's why it has 99.999999999999999999% of the Viruses, it just wasn't design for how it is being used today. The Mac never had very much marketshare, maybe 16% tops, that will of course change in the coming years, but it was never an issue for Apple or its users. They had, have a better OS and better hardware and that's what keeps people wanting them. Actually, OS9 or Clbuttic was even more secure on a network because there was no command line. Most ALL of the 60 or so viruses that have occurred on Macs (old macs) was because of the use of Floppies or CDs, not via the network, which was impossible to infect from the outside. No, Microsoft is just inept at programming they could of done what Apple did and built a new OS based on LInux (or whatever) then build a box for all the old Windows stuff to run inside of, Like Clbuttic. But they just don't have the skills for that type of high level programming. So the Users of Windows are pretty much still stuck in the Apple era from a software and hardware point of view. I agree it's not hard to secure a Windows machine, but the fact remains that task-problem should have been "designed" out of Windows in the first place, Apple does it with OSX, why can't Microsoft? They don't know what they are doing, that's why. -- .
