Why does my address appear as part of my name 2514

I open my computer and go to Google "search". There, I choose one of several options: web, groups, images. Just now I chose "groups" and "here" I am. Instead of "on" Google, maybe I should have said "in" or "at" Google; (I think even Einstein once had to deal with the imagery necessarily present in some or maybe all prepositions.)

That could be. I do not write or receive much e-mail personally, but I received very much spam at my former address, where there was no spam guard. At my (new) Lycos address I have not yet received any spam at all, so that maybe the SOS post at the beginning of this thread was not necessary.

I would have to be interested in a "group" rather than in an author or a subject not normally treated by any group.

I look through Google groups and copy out messages that I want to have for my anthology. Those are often several years old.

I had not noticed this.

Yes. Now I remember I saw those for highly specialized discussions, as, for instance, of ancient texts and old languages.
