Why does my address appear as part of my name 2515Why does my address appear as part of my name 2516 Nothing. I've been using this address in my posts since I registered goes back to '89 or '90... 'Jan van den Broek' Why is that a problem? Only a very small part of the spam isn't caught by the filters, in my situation. Pray your email addres never gets harvested by a 'Swen' like worm, for one example. That happened to me back when email boxes were 10 MBytes. For a while I had one email box that was receiving over 2000 infected emails sent out by systems infected with 'Swen'. Each email, with attachment was about 160 KBytes, even though I used a local filter to identify the infected email by popping only a half dozen lines of each, that meant checking and deleting at least every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day. In the two years since, large ISPs in the USA, at least, scan for infected incoming and outgoing email, but a similar flood could return. If you post with a (useful to you) email address to Usenet, you might as well sell that address to spammers, and least make some money off the transaction.
