Why does my address appear as part of my name 2516

Nothing. I've been using this address in my posts since I registered goes back to '89 or '90. That's still a valid address. If posting from work I used a valid work address.

I think those who hide behind fake addresses either don't know how to handle spam or suffer from life threatening high blood pressure whenever a piece of spam makes it through their filters! Note: the above is supposed to be mildly humorous.

Yesterday I had to delete 3 or 4 bits of spam that got through my filters. As for the filters:

15 messages were rejected by sendmail for various reasons 29 messages were in greylisting limbo 13 messages went todev-null due to virus scanning 8 messages went to a spam folder for any of various reasons 198 messages were delivered.

The 3 or 4 messages I had to delete by hand were part of these 198 messages. I don't find deleting a handful of messages so onerous a task that I should make it harder for people to communicate with me by hiding my address. Others disagree. That's OK. I probably don't want to talk to those people, anyway :-)
