Leaving besides the fact that Jesus IS Jewish. Not emphasised much over the years, but a lot of the Gospels can only really be understood unless one realizes that the whole thing derives from the extreme factionalism that was endemic in Judaism then. I started to read Josephus and got bogged down in stories of him arriving somewhere and there being a `tumult' among the people. ( This would be without conceding that Josephus would have been censored somewhat over the years that the books were being copied by Christian monks).. Rereading the above, I begin to realize how complicated the whole thing is. Is Jesus Jewish?.. Well, his mother was.. Was his father? (conceding that Jesus is son of God, which some doubt). We, being the Children of God, are a part of Him, so the Beni' Israel would be part of it, so even conceding that Jesus was son of God, that would have its Jewish element. I think that part of being Jewish is that your mother is Jewish?.. I think I will lie down for a while, with a damp cloth on forhead..

Well, other religions preceded Judaism, and a quick trawl will get the sources of a lot of the Bible litrature from sources that were dug up over this century. The whole point in the Israel-Palestinian problem is that the Palestinians lived in the area now occupied by the state of Israel, and ((fled from intimidation) (were forced to leave)) since 1948 or so. There are old people in refugee camps in Jordan that still have the door keys to their houses in Haifa (probably long since `redeveloped').. In the extremely factionalized area of the Muslim East, including what are diverse racial groups, there is one uniting theme, that the Palestinians be allowed back to their homes. How that can be realized without changing the right of Israelis to live in peace is the problem.
It may be difficult, but it will have to be done, if the problem is to be solved.
The destruction of the World Trade center is one of the most disturbing things I have seen. To think that such destruction could be done by a tiny group of determined people is extremely unsettling. There are a lot of questions to be answered. (even without some of the madder theories being debated on the web)..
