I think this may be a little arrogant. The logistics need to be told to those who do the labor. Otherwise, they have no way to make a good decision on too little data. That's why business plans exist. When the laborers have to make those little decisision that involve trade-offs, they have a guide of which way to go. It is these little daily decisions that establish the folklore of a company and the philosophy of an operating system. I see no evidence that this doesn't apply to other human affairs in society, war, and politics.
