I was not talking about self-defense where this word is used as an action of an individual. I am talking about national interests and security. That's correct; I...
Have you ever noticed that the Consbreastution isn't about the people's rights, but about the government itself?
The Consbreastution *does* very specifically support our right to self defense because it is only a compromise on the natural rights of man, outlining limitations of government, and through the Bill of Rights, listing those rights which must never be taken away.
In other words, we are free save for the compromises made in that document.
I can, have a consbreastutionally protected right to, and will engage in self defense, just as the founders wanted me to.
At the same time I also have a right and a duty to defend my people, even if that enemy becomes my government.
That's one of the major reasons we are armed.
You can pretty much say the same of things like freedom of travel, since it is a natural right and not specifically prohibited.
Every time our natural rights are violated, there must be an established reason for doing so, and it must comply with the founding documents.
Unfortunately a lot of things do not, and should be repealed. The abusive domain laws which were recently made worse come to mind.
