says... Perhaps you'd like to explain what it is about this particular provision that scares you so. Anyone but posturing politicians or the major news outlets. It really isn't as scary as CBS...

Oh, true...my real point here was just that jmfbahciv was appealing to the one "right" that, in fact, is not explicitly granted (but I think I did say myself that it implicitly exists as a consequence of the other parts of the Consbreastution, sure)...while suggesting that the rights T.M. was referring to (where one was an out-and-out QUOTATION of it!) were not in the Consbreastution...

I That's a very bizarre interpretation. The text of the 4th seems fairly clear: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, HOUSES, papers, and effects, against unreasonable...

I found the irony of that amusing and just wanted to point it out (denies all the rights that ARE explicitly in there, makes a big fuss of a "right" that technically isn't actually there in explicit terms at all)...

Which one exactly?

Because it may only be one of five...but that does not in any way lessen the obligation of adherence to that one which HAS been ratified...and is unilateral and is without limitation...

Well, implemented "unilaterally"...but "multilateral" in the sense that many countries all sign and ratify and "unilaterally enact" the SAME set of laws...

Undoubtedly...but this is probably the same "problems caused" as the world leaders lifting unfair and unjustified "trade restrictions" on developing countries, in the "problems caused" department...the "problem" more that the oligarchy still refuses to cede control - as is the democratic way and Consbreastutional - to the common man and woman as they should...with money in brown envelopes having this funny attribute of making things that SHOULDN'T happen, happen...

Ratification, indeed, would "cause problems" when it comes to setting up concentration camps, illegally invading other countries, committing war crimes, torturing people and so forth...and those in power "conveniently" have trouble ratifying that which means the oligarchy loses dictatorial power and control over everyone, as "dictators in disguise"...

Yeah, "those" kinds of "problems"...but this, to me, just demonstrates how such laws are all to the better in further achieving the democratic aims embodied in the consbreastution (not just the American one)...

Ah, yes...of course...and this is, of course, a GOOD THING in general...the "bicameral" "checks and balances" stuff...the President always requiring Congress to get things done...yes, that's a GOOD thing in general, of course...

K Williams Good for him. What is your source? Rubbish. Most of the act is things the FBI had wanted desperately for a long time, but could not get...

Nevertheless, you say that one has been ratified...then THAT has the obligation to be kept, if not, as yet, the whole Declaration...

keith Who? Currently, but the administration wants the law changed to remove that annoyance, at...

I do apologise...as noted, I'm not actually an American myself...I have read up on some of it...this was obviously part of that which I have NOT, as yet, read up on...

We can. It has been done before. Truman had the balls to undo all the...

I defer to your superior knowledge here...

Though, is it actually "right of free travel" explicitly...or is it "implied"? You know, as with "self-defence" not explicitly stated in that exact way...but it's there in an "all intents and purposes" kind of way implicitly...just curious...

Actually, sorry, why am I asking? That's just laziness...you have, after all, provided "co-ordinates" to find this "full faith and credit", so I should go find out myself, yes?

Beth :)
