Today I went in Circuit City, and I've done the typing test in CompUSA and Best Buy too. Some of the keyboards have interesting functions, but the key feel is horrible. It's hard to explain, but most of them feel like someone is pushing back whenever I hit a key. It's really kind of creepy. Of all of them, as much as I hate to say it, some of the Microsoft keyboards are not terrible. They don't have much feel, but they also don't have that wierd push-back feeling. Also annoying is that so many of them are so light they won't sit still while I'm typing. Others are so sprawled out they won't fit in what I used to think of as a rather large keyboard drawer. of course, even my IBM model M has one bad flaw: it's got a numeric keypad so the home row isn't centered in front of my monitor. I hate that, but can't really do anything about it since I can't find an equivalent keyboard or one I like that doesn't have the same problem. Yeah, that's why :) I pretty much skipped the entire ps-2 keyboard era. Mmm, *that's...
