Oh, rock! JMF was visiting his mother and asked me what I wanted him to buy for me. I hated men to spend money on me so I told him to get me a rock. What he did was find an elongated rock about the volume of a golf ball and he prospected on the Sacremento River and got a bunch of gold flakes. (The river is loaded with lots of flakes.) Then he spent that night gluing the flakes to the rock. This apparently was a very difficult thing to do.

I carried that rock in my pocket for a very, very long time. It's now in my treasure box.

Ptui. I just bought a dozen t-shirts from LLBean for $12-shirt. The material used will cause these shirts to last ~20 years. Cheaper shirts will disintegrate in my water because of too much chlorine is added to the water and it rots all cotton.
