Those three used hydraulics, and the first two decoded the head position hydraulically.

Fixed it was, and only had one pair of heads, driven by compressed air not only in and out but up and down the stack of disks.

There was also something called a 305 (not sure of the 5) Ramac; I think its innards were like the 1405.

650 it was, and entirely valve-tube logic. My only experience of this was buttisting to break one up ca 1966 to send various bits of it to technical schools in Ireland to play with. I think Dundalk or Drogheda Tech got the drum. I acquired the main blower, a quarter HP motor with a centrifugal fan on either end. After some years on a shelf in my garage it went on loan to Dunsink Observatory who had a rack of Novas ready to run but the blower they had ordered was delayed for some reason. It then came back to me for many more years until about ten years ago I used the motor to power a polisher is still giving good service.
