Big city.
I spent 2 weeks in the vicinity back in 2000 for my first trip. Did the touristy things and got some of the behind the scenes at places like the BM, the BL (they were at my business meetings) as well as visit friends at Oxford, Cambridge (seminars, too, Nick is still peeed at me no doubt), Bletchley (got a very nice inside tour and they came and visited us), Greenwich (stay near the Millenium Dome, but didn't go inside except to use the Tube station. Oh yeah visited British Telecom from there over in Norwich. And I was advised to see the theater (I saw 3: Copenhagen: which I do not recommend, and 2 Reduced plays {really should have seen more clbuttical}). Just not enough time. And I have been back to London a couple of times (I really should have seen Jerry Springer the Opera).
lots snipped... It depended upon the area at DEC... Field Service was a good old boys club a lot longer than it should've been much to the detriment of a number of female Field...
Many memories, too many to enumerate here. It was the year of the 60 dead Chinese in the cargo container. Hot. Saw Harrison's clocks-watches. H1 is always badly photographed. You can't see the wood, only the front face. The back side with the teeth are what you really want to see. But that was all a marketing job for sell books.
