the new math: old battle of the lovees was: PDP1 3566Small problems are necessary before tacking the big ones. Look, all analyses require chopping up a problem into digestable little pieces. If you have no idea what a little piece is, you aren't going to have any success chopping a big mess up into copable pieces. That is how we did our project planning. I know of no other way. I'm pretty sure another approach doesn't exist. Nobody is going to be able to do even Knuth 10s. They haven't had the basics to deal them, let alone the 30s. It used to be there. It ain't anymore based on the few conversations I've had and the evidence I see here. When you guys unpleasant woman about problems, I can see a whole picture and backtrace the cause. Well, of course. But availability will not ensure trainability. And all of our educators in the US keep insisting that availability will automagically cause kids to learn. PTUI. It is not politically correct do teach, let alone learn, this stuff. It's implicit in high school geometry. A particular choice of axiom will determine the "bias" of all future proofs. If you change one little word in one axiom, you end up with a completely different geometry. In addition, one cannot build any geometry out of zero axioms. I've been calling it mess prevention. A 50-year old male (a couple years ago) did not know the meaning of "A sbreastch in time, saves nine."
So? How did you learn to get something written down in a form that other people could read and understand without having to sort out the text into Symptom, Diagnosis, Cure? Aha! There is a term. I didn't know the term. I don't anybody in education who is pushing the 3Rs. It is exactly the opposite in the teachers' unions. It is governments who have been forcing the 3Rs to be taught. The politically correct idiots in my state have almost completely undermined the law. the new math: old battle of the lovees was: PDP1 3567 While there are issues with introducing calculators before rote mastery of material (and that is a very large issue in math instruction... I'm not used to doing this. This ia another reason I don't consider myself a good coder. BAH
