touring the NTS was: security was: the net again: transputers again was: Commodore 2946

Well not all, I know. I have to get to one complainer on another topic.

Hercules 3.04 announcement
Anne & Lynn Wheeler part of the issue with jupiter controller work starting in early 80s and then some 10...

You guys are being too kind. It really needs a good editor to go over it. From Barb that's high praise! I have to extract a story of a tape drive from GAM which used miles of tape to record events (just for acceleration alone much less taking data). I am leaving a lot out. Purposely. If you take the tour and see weird things, not talked about by the guides, a few of those things I was made privy to the unclbuttified parts (from meetings). Weird stuff. It's too bad you can't take binocs.

What I have added in the way of context like Hansen's books, toning Rhodes to his proper place (you get far more hype for publicity to sell his books), and also really recommending Las Vegas as the current beta test site for a lot of electronics (I have to decide whether to send a correspondent for me to CES or whether I should go myself).

David Dyer-Bennet In practice, it's not the issue you make it out to be. I use...

Oh I left out searching for high level wastes: from the Antarctic (the reactor sent down there and the contaminated soil), I just realized this, and they are what I was looking for: the rocket sites (Area 21 and Area 25) for George Dyson's book about his family on Project Orion (I try to maintain close touch for his own family history search). What else, oh the story of the location of the NB-36 planted used to fly a reactor to test shielding, etc. in flight. It's fuselege is out there somewhere (foot-thick lead-glbutt windows). We didn't visit Areas 21 and 25, but we could get flyers on them.

Basically, It's all a product of hardball computing.

A lot of shops are still like that. Of course, sometimes they get stupid with it. I remember not...
