The goal is to never have a successful government based on capitalism. I haven't figured out why their timing is so atrocious and... I don't even know what's going on in Ira any more. For a while it seemed clear that the persons were trying to force us to leave. Understandable but misguided. All they had to do was sit back, stockpile weapons, worke some people into key posts in the government and wait. Maybe a few selective buttinations, but basically wait. After a suitable interval we'd begin pulling out. At a certain point it becomes irreversable. Then they surface and *bang*. At one point it looked like AlQueda was coming in and just trying to attack us any way they could, but this doesn't seem to be the case any more. I think the "big brother" analogy might be best. The various factions are like a bunch of small boys (two of them, anyhow). They foght with each other like cats and dogs, and any time one starts to get beaten he runs to BB for protection. Then he regroups and gets back into the fight. We're only incidental to the whole mess. No one is pushing too hard for us to leave because then they'd have to fight it out on their own. I find it hard to understand the mindset of someone who's more interested in destroying his enemy than in improving the situation for the benefit of himself and his family.
