I have no idea. I'm waiting to calm down enough so I can form questions so I can learn WTF these idiots are trying to do and, at the same time, not get my nephew into trouble. If you don't think and act PC, you are put on society's poo list and he doesn't seem to be the type who can handle that.

My point is that there isn't a receptacle for this knowledge that isn't tied up in copyright and patent wrapping. Now if that company gets bought out and the CEO decides that the knowledge is unimportant to the bottom line, it gets dumped, destroyed, lost, gone. It isn't getting into academia like science does. Our biz has not developed a process to ooze what we learn in industry into the public domain educational system. (I've tried writing this one three times; it's the best I can do..sorry).

And how many people who use gear know that? The basic buttumption I see is that they expect all resources to be infinite. When the few people who do this basic work make this buttumption, the biz has eaten its seedcorn. The real problem is that the hardware side of the biz has been too successful for too long. Software hasn't kept up because it didn't have to.
