Sorry, I was pooped out yesterday and only dealt with the short things.

Population cycles. I keep being amazed at People Pictures who are confusing equal opportunity with 50-50 nose count. They are not the same thing. When you force a 50-50 nose count of whatever, the Peter Principle applies 100% because capability and accomplishment self-satisfaction are completely ignored. When these people who were forced into a job slot (IOW, they never grew into it) don't get the same praise or treatment of those who really did work well, they start to pout and have temper tantrums and stomp all the way to a lawyer.

IOW, these people were trained to not work.

The culture part is availability of access to the opportunity, not a forced labor. When you start saying that there should be 50% male and 50% female, you are talking about forced labor. This ensures that absolutely no innovation will be done for the next 50 years.

Now explain why there was a population of women doing that work 40 years ago. You keep buttuming there hasn't been any women in this biz. I'm telling you there were a lot of women in the biz. This is a fact.

It's not hard to say. One of the things that galled me was those NOW idiots. When they were off marching and making messes, the females who actually worked and got paid were doing exactly what the NOW types were demanding that the government enforce. Nobody realized that, in order to do protests, one had to take time off from work. Nobody would waste valuable vacation time doing that.

Why do you want to force the ratios to change?

You keep buttuming that it's broke. Try buttuming it's not broke. Listen to that female student you talked about. If the CS degree program required clbuttes that forced her to join the Feminist Movement she would go to a different major to stop getting pestered and learn the computing biz on the sly. This will guarantee that she will miss out on a lot of knowledge.
