winscape 2200Now, reread my paragraph but subsbreastute the male noun for every female noun except "the guy's woman". That is how males compete among each other, too. Yes! For women, there is a fix. Just do the work. Males admire other people of any love who get the work done. winscape 2202 Numbers would be good. I tried to look them up on the census site, but couldn't figure out haw to navigate the thing well enough. When I was an under grad (early '70s), female... Hold it. There were other women who did that work. This wasn't a 100% male environment. winscape 2203 Yeah. I made an attempt to get more information yesterday, and found several links to NSF-funded reports that sounded promising, but they were all broken, and I didn't have the patience to... Of course they couldn't. They didn't have the long term thinking; they weren't getting paid for it if they did have some. First of all, there were many females and males and others working at DEC from the time I started working there until the time I stopped working. Just because the PC types tell you that females don't exist does not mean that they are correct. I am telling you that these idiots are wrong. Now, it certainly true that DEC had a different working environment than others. I'm told that I'd been spoiled because most of the people I worked with were smart and that, even our dumbest was smarter than the norm. Now, why do you think that DEC produced quality? Because we were obsessed with how to buttign the work based on anything other than ability? NO. You didn't understand. Males don't like to have the furniture moved around. A lot of the process improvement that I worked on was essentially rearranging how stuff got done. I tweaked these processes so that the real workers (coders) didn't have to change much of their work habits; this was a constraint. If I caused all the coders to have to change their work habits to implement something further down the production line, it had better be something that was costing the company at least $10 million dollars. To change a development group's infrastructure was expensive, very expensive. A one-hour meeting of 10 people cost guesstimate $10K; I'm including the extra time the members would have to take to back into their thinking mode. winscape 2201 Some rough work that pays well for very long hours. Some technical professional work (engineers, software, etc). The Doctors are where the buck stops... BAH
