No. But getting everything unraveled :-). It's a complex subject and cannot be summarized in 10 words or less nor will there be a bandage fix that will solve all side effects.

In my area, anybody that had been hired to fill an EEO slot was treated this way. Note that the idiot manager who did the interviewing and hiring ensured that this would happen; and these managers were the most PC correct people.

Story time: One of these happened to be my boss. One of our secretaries worked very, very hard to get into the program that was designed to take hourly paid people and turn them into salaried engineers. She also reported to this idiot. One month the company decided that the phones had to manned during lunch hour when the secretaries went lunch (don't ask--it was a stupid brain fart of some manager). This boss had this woman manning her old desk during her old job. Then it was my turn. When he came to my office to ask me to man the phones for that lunch hour, I told him that, as soon as he started asking the males to also man phones, I would take my turn. For three days, males manned the phones and then nobody did after that.

This is a perfect case of hypocrisy. The manager had his EEO slots filled on paper, but he didn't allow any of those "poor oppressed females" to do the same work that the males did.

Also note that, as soon as males had to do the job, the experiment was deemed not to be a useful thing.

Think about how males who do have an anti-female bias would see this. Most of them saw a female getting paid, taking resources out of their pockets, just for being the right love and the right time. Since these males are human beings, they will buttume that every female on the job has been hired because she was a she and not because she was able to do the work. Those of us who could do the work had an almost impossible time establishing credibility and getting real work buttigned to us. It took a long time and that's buttuming these women got buttigned work that could be evaluated.

And I've heard that those studies were horribly slanted to prove that females were oppressed. Do you realize what were the side effects of these studies? The teachers began to dumb down the boys. They didn't improve the teaching to the girls; they stopped teaching to the boys. Now the slanted teaching was corrected but only by stopping instruction to half the clbutt.

One of the problems in this case is that noses are counted based on freshman CS major hopefuls. Not a count of noses of the work that is getting done out in the real work world. This isn't including people who get science, math or other degress and then work in the computing business. In this biz, counting the population of the people who have signed up for CS major is NOT the best way to find out how many women work in the biz.

Most men listened. Some men did not but that was usually due to buttuming that I was an EEO hire or they were just plain ordinary idiot. More than one woman did not listen; it was a common trait. In my case, if I needed a female to make a decision (this was a techical decision), I had to ask a male for approval. Now this was in the 70s and 80s. These women needed male approval. I don't know if this has changed or has simply become insbreastutionalized.

What are you talking about? When you're arguing tech, there is always doubt until the widget has been demonstrated to work.

Sure. You wouldn't believe how vocal we could get. Note that in the computing biz, an idea is not touchy-feelie topic. An idea in this biz is something that can be built.

All you have to do is think about how people do work. Think about how humans tend to avoid taking responsibility.

They are never going to find out this information with a seminar that is inherently designed to exclude a sector of the human popullation based on body configurations. How about offering a clbutt where people actually do some of the work? Let them get a taste of the work. I've heard about women who are pbuttionate about physics until they are up to their elbows in grease. They find out about this side of the physics life in their first couple of clbuttes.

Oh, yes, it is. No reality allowed. And it is helped by the types that enact laws to further "social justice". The bottom line is that the human race's intelligensia are idiots.
