I don't understand how people learn about economy, money flows, monetary policy, foreign policies and relations, and other stuff; all this is necessary to governing. Governing is the mechanism that keeps a society cohesive and functioning. In olden days, the real elite were those who were taught and doing this work, since the day they were weaned. In this modern day in the US, the training doesn't happen until after the job buttignment (elections are successful). One of the problems with hiring governors to be President is that they have a very limited experience. OTOH, governors are the only ones who have any administrative experience. People from Congress no longer get administrative experience because the political machines that used to train them have disappeared.
