Why should a rebuild increase error? If they are independant builds, then the chance is the same each time. IBM certainly had money, and many licences have "flow-back" provisions wherein user improvements become vendor licenceable.
On both these scores, Microsoft ought to do very well. But it appears they don't listen well. Linux does extremely well on the latter and listens well, but not so well on the former. -- Robert
