You seem to very low threshold for establishing 'facts.' I would expect companies to work a lot harder to establish the truthfulness of their facts than you did, citing one article, by one guy, which disputes hundreds upon hundreds of claims by experts.

Agreed. Companies must always be expected to state only truth, and everyone should fight them when they do anything less.

Don't they? At the worst, Apple is lying about how serious the problems are. At the very least, Microsoft is guilty of producing a dozen products with major weaknesses and vulnerabilities, selling them as solid and reliable, and causing customers to spend money and time and effort learning how to combat those problems. Those problems cause millions of dollars in expenses and trouble for their customers. Those problems can be seen practically to define dealing with those terribly weak products.

Marketing claims need to be fought, but Apple is not the only company making them, and Apple's have been a lot less ridiculous than almost every company's.

Did you read that report that was part of the thread Thursday? You can argue the relative term 'horrible' but in my judgment, viruses and related software problems causing problems...

I didn't say either of those things. I am writing that EXPERTS (whether AV publishers or industry analysts or government overseers) have been writing of huge number of real and conspicuous malware for many years. It is equally true that Mac OS has had almost zero such problems through the same period. You don't have to go to an AV marketing department to find this information -- and you don't have to accept any single claim. Just use reason.
