Whic isn't really surprising considering it ocurred in 1974. Some were saying that its tail would combine with the atmosphere and produce toxic clouds. There were similar predictions when Halley's Comet pbutted by early in the 20th Century. Those predictions were that an intermingling would produce clouds of 'intoxicating vapors' that would lead to 'excessive euphoria' in the population. I guess people having fun was a scarier thought back then than DOOM!.

Nothing has been done to control population growth. And one of the main 'culprits' in acid rain is CO2. You can listen to the global warming fundamentalists to get an idea of how well that's been brought into check.

You can predict DOOM! without being a fundamentalist about it. That you're not understanding that is why you're making the false connection.
