Remember how Alan Baker claimed the COLSA computers were not Army computers? Remember his claims that COLSA was only leasing computer time to the Army?

No, it isn't. Then why did Einstein put his name under that text? The full thing is here, with scanned images of the printed letter. And at the bottom...

"We actually found out about the briefing when the rep from the other team started bragging about how big a deal he was going to close with the Army on a conference call. On checking into it, I found out that the deal involved COLSA purchasing computers for the US Army. I actually ended up talking to a reseller who had been involved in working the deal. The reseller, who had found the deal, had been pushed out of it into a role as installer for which they would receive a very small installation fee. Apple wanted the deal direct and one of the conditions they laid down for the reseller was that he had to keep his mouth shut and not mention anything to the federal team about COLSA buying computers for the US Army."

"Of course I went immediately to the manager of the team who was illegally fishing in the Army pond. In a huff of righteousness, he told me that the computers that COLSA was going to buy were not for the Army but for COLSA. The Army would not be buying the computers, but would only be leasing time on the computers. It was a well crafted story, and told to me by someone who had been a friend for years. He was, however, lying."

The bottom line is...
