Who's to say? Apple. In fact that's what I was suggesting with this post but I haven't seen the every-man's-mac yet.
Yea right, most of the buying public agrees with me. If they saw it Apple's way, OS X would be 90% of the market. What the buying public IS buying is the every-man's-pc. Apple hasn't caught on yet.
You know I was going to ask you if you were smoking crack as you typed it, then I looked to see that it's you Oxford that posted this. That explains this silly statement. Apple does not have to OK anything. They didn't OK SATA, they just adopted it.
Wait a minute, are you smoking crack? Are you absolutely crazy? Let me give you a clue, SATA was a hit before Apple adopted it. External SATA is here but not really popular because USB serves the purpose of external storage. That's because average PC users will not use external storage as a HD with an OS on it. They will go out and get a drive and install it so they can have all the speed they need. Time Machine will be sluggish on a USB or Firewire HD.
