Apple ahead of schedule 3152Well, if its a bespoke business app it's probably not just one Mac, but one per user of the app. You need to be able to replace them as they break down. Waiting until they actually do is probably not a good idea; it's better to have a solution in hand before you need it. Down time gets expensive fast. Did it not work in Clbuttic at least? snip Mac programs do not have that option. Windows developers do not need to do that, because MS is still supporting Win32. And Win16. And DOS. snip If the old is no longer supported on new hardware, it becomes a big deal. That is what just happened with Apple. snip snip- lots o steps! Might I suggest alt-printscreen? This captures the current window only, and drops it into the clipboard. Saves a certain amount of cropping work. snip- about half as many steps I do not find the hotkeys are always different. Ctrl-S for save, in particular, seems to be pretty darn universal. Rex Ballard: I am Woman, Hear Me Roar! 3154 Harvey Goldstein I could have sworn that was no longer on my site. Oh well. You mentioned something that happened in 1979, on a night when I... I do not see how your example demonstrates this; mspaint, lame though it is, does support the usual shortcuts, like Ctrl-N and Ctrl-S, that you could have used. snip Yes they are. The orbital laser platforms never miss! snip snip- metric buttloads of whining That whine was entirely composed of "it doesn't work like a Mac". That's not the FUD I meant. It really *doesn't*, and if you prefer memorizing a zillion pbuttwords over Active Directory, then maybe you have a reason to prefer the Mac. Windows actually is highly compatible with old software. Maccies can swear on a stack of bibles that it ain't, but it is, and it's users depend on this, every day, and aren't going to be fooled.
