Apple Ireland has apologized to an Irish man who had threatened to walk across Ireland to protest about Apple's customer service.

Karl Hayden had planned to walk from Dublin to Cork. His "walk of shame" was intended to embarrbutt Apple as well as gain attention for his plight, according to MacNN.

Hayden's walk was to take place while he waited for the planned pickup of his malfunctioning iMac.

The 10-month-old iMac crashed on July 14. After several attempts at repair Apple agreed to replace the computer on 14 August. However, Apple failed to pick up the iMac when it said it would.
