Apple vs The Scroll Wheel 1108
quote for context supplied I can handle negative comments about Apple. I've made a few myself. You're just too busy to notice. interestingly, although this...

I'm changing nothing. I NEVER said that all scroll-wheel mice work on a Mac. In fact, I went out of my way to state that there might indeed be some scroll-wheel mice that don't work on the Mac. BUT, in the case of the mice singled-out by Pratt, its not just the scroll-wheel that doesn't work, its the buttons too. I.E. NOTHING about those mice works on a Mac because they use some proprietary RF link that requires drivers NEITHER platform supports natively. The only reason why they work on Windows is because the companies that make them wrote Windows drivers for them. OTOH, Pratt could have walked into any Staples, Office Max, or ANY computer store, bought the cheapest USB scroll-wheel mouse he could find, plug it into a Mac, and it would work, scroll-wheel and all. He innocently says that he picked the "first mice" he came across and they didn't work. Its funny that both of the mice he chose just happen to be in that tiny percentage of wireless mice that won't work on a Mac. The odds of that actually happening are so tiny as to be practically nonexistent. Its a transparent troll and how typical of you, zara-zero, to come to the defense of that obviously dishonest troll, Pratt.

Normal" People are LYING. I've never seen a USB mouse with a scroll-wheel that didn't work on Mac - and does so without drivers. I'm not...
