So what kind of a mouse did you get? At least post that here so that no one else will make that mistake. Or are you afraid that someone will go out and buy that kind of mouse and arrive at a different result?

I'm not calling you a liar. I just find it odd that anyone is selling a non-HID USB mouse or keyboard.
As for the ten-buck mouse, I've learned that there's good hardware out there and there's crap. There are a bunch of mice and keyboards at work and there are definite differences between them. Dell cheap mice and Dell cheap keyboards suck. The actions are mushy, the construction is flimsy, and the products just aren't durable. The HP, Logitech, and MacAlly products feel better and last longer ... and work better.

What's "wrong" is that unlike you, I appreciate quality and I'm willing to spend the extra money for it. Usually, buying the cheap crap results in disappointment. That's part of why I like OS X.
