BBC article: PCs and Macs start to converge 2869 Well, I don't think any Mac user really cares. I certainly don't. I'm willing to pay whatever Apple charges because as far as I concerned, they're the only game... The topic is, is switching from Wintel to Mac(tel) now less daunting with the advent of Boot Camp, for anyone who aspires to? Before: You either need to keep your old beige box around for a while at least, or you'll need to not only replace your PC, but overnight, find-buy replacements for all your software too, and then adapt to a completely new operating system with no guarantee you'll like it or find it fits your needs fully. Too risky! Too daunting! Most therefore don't bother. Now: Run the relatively simple 'Boot Camp' & Windows installation, and transfer to this new operating system and its new software as quickly or slowly as you like, plus knowing that the safety net of familiarity is just a few clicks away if you really don't like it or find it doesn't fit all your needs. BBC article: PCs and Macs start to converge 2870 Actually I don't pay any attention to the "RDF" as you call it. When Jobs says... Granted, costs are an issue which some will have more of a problem with than others - people do have differing priorities - but don't try to pretend switching is just as difficult or daunting as before. That's nonsense. Before, it's a big step, but now, it's baby steps. Yeah, that'd cause movement alright. The smelly kind! -- This message was brought to you by Wayne Stuart - Have a nice day!
