Your mistake is in believing that the purpose of Boot Camp is to get Windows users to try a Mac. That's not its purpose at all. Boot camp is so that Mac users have some leverage when wanting to use Macs at their Windows-centric workplaces. It disarms one of industry's top objections to Macs. It also allows Mac users who need to run some Win-only software a way to do so that is productive (unlike a slow emulator such as VPC).

Its not the best solution though. The best solution is one which has Windows running as a "guest" OS under OSX on an Intel Mac. There are already one or two such solutions waiting in the wings (such as Parallel), with more to come. I'm sure.
