Oh, I dunno. Pre PPC software runs even today under Clbuttic. I use a program called MacEnvelopes that hasn't been updated since 1988. It still runs, and I still use it. In some ways, Apple's backward compatibility record isn't so bad. I think the OP is in that boat. I've read that it depends upon what you're running. For instance, I've heard that Photoshop runs very poorly under Rosetta. I've also heard that the PPC version of iDVD is all but unusable (luckily, there's a dual binary version avaliable already). This bodes poorly for a lot of video software not yet ported. While the poster did not say what he was doing, his emphesis on the two fastest Macs tells me he's doing some pretty processor intensive stuff.
