DRM what DRM, iTunes doesn't have DRM... :^ 2857George Graves said the following on 16-05-2006 02:47 am: Yes, absolutely. Probably they could hear a difference, and that was enough to convince them to buy a more expensive cable. to me they sounded slightly different if I listened very carefully, but to them it was a difference in clarity, in stero positioning (accuracy) and such like. Whether something sounds 'better' is subjective. What impressed me was that they both chose the more expensive one, and knew it through a number of switches and false switches. It's not really comparable to a tone control though, now I come to think of it. Tone controls are entirely subtractive, whereas a cable with lower resistance and a more uniform characteristic throughout the frequency spectrum is applying the same principles as good amp design, outside the box. So maybe they are right. And bear in mind that these prices were to them in their financal position akin to mid-range hi-fi prices to me in my position. (must be a better way of saying that...) It was not very much money to them. Andy DRM what DRM, iTunes doesn't have DRM... :^ 2858 Record deck - J. A. Michele 'Orbe' Turntable with Audioquest PT-8 arm, Sumiko "Blackbird" cartridge.
