There's no evidence it's not and no reasonable explanation of why they wouldn't have unplugged the adapter from the computer if they were really in a hurry to get it outside. It takes longer to unplug it from the wall and gather up the cable (up to about 12 feet of cable -- at least 6 feet) and then carry the whole thing than it would to simply yank out the cord at the computer.
