How can you state that PS is not a web design tool, but is important for web design? LOL!
And Graphic Converter cant do some of the tricks Photoshop can.......so what! it is still a Graphics program! and Photoshop is still a web design tool used for web design by web designers one of which happens to be Sandman!
So now the comparison is that it has to have the same functionality as Dreamweaver to be a web design tool, even though Sandman chooses to not use an automatic code developer? you seem to be saying that only webs designed by apps like Dreamweaver can be considered to have been designed and those constructed in the way Sandman chooses are not!...are you serious?
Everyone and his dog will agree with you that Photoshop is an image editing program why are you so surprised?.....the point is that this thread proves that some people have taken their use of Photoshop to a level that you are having great difficulty coming to terms with!
Why is it so important to you that only Dreamweaver and GoLive etc be used to design web sites? The simple fact is that Sandman apparently has certain skills that you cannot accept, and as such Photoshop in his hands becomes a far more versatile tool more in keeping with it's ongoing development than when it is in your hands where its capabilities are severely diminished! Stop analyzing yourself by comparing yourself to others and maybe you will be able to appreciate your strengths whatever they may be that bit more.

Let me just make a note of that...Photoshop is used by web designers for web design because it is a very important and powerful web design tool but is not to be considered a web design tool itself? Thank you Snit that makes your position very clear! LOL!
Again you are seen arguing against someone's opinion someone that uses Photoshop in a way that is apparently beyond your comprehension but completely in line with Photoshop's features! so you cripple the apps description based not on any inability of the app but based solely on your own short comings! That hardly seems fair!

That you cannot come to terms with the fact that someone can consider Photoshop *the* web design tool given that they have detailed their feelings toward automatic code generation for web design is quite revealing for an alleged teacher!
I would gladly continue if I thought it would be of any benefit to you, but it is apparent that the only results that would concur with your beliefs are ones that severely restrict the functionality of Photoshop, and as you are the only one that applies such limitations to Photoshop I fear I would be wasting my time.
For now I would simply point you toward the Adobe Photoshop seven user guide page 287: Chapter 12.. First paragraph...

Well what do you know? Sandman isn't the only one after all that appreciates Photoshop's web design capabilities.

And guess what Snit when the web site is finished all of Photoshop's image editing abilities will still be there! What a versatile app that is!
