Dualdrive firewire enclosure

I am planning to buy a new Macbook-Pro when the Core2Duo models are announced in a couple of months. I plan to use Parallel to run Windows, and I currently have 65Gb in music files sitting in my Powermac (which I will be selling).

Obviously the notebook drives aren't big enough for my storage needs, so I think I need an external drive for storage and a bigger one to back up the notebook drive and external drive.

Rather than get two firewire drives and deal with a mess of cables and power cords I think it might be better to get a dual-drive enclosure, with a 250Gb drive in one slot and something like a 400Gb for backups.

Does this sound like a good idea? Any recommendation? Do (or should) these enclosures come with fans... and how loud are they?
