It is unlikely that more than 25% of Apple's volume is sold through its retail stores. 2. Even if 50% of ALL Mac buyers are switchers (I doubt that very much) they would represent about 2.2 million units of Mac sales in Apple's FY 2005, or a bit over 1% of all PC shipments. 3. Vista is a non-event. XP delivers most of what PC owners want to do. OS X is way past what non-geeks need. The vast majority of PC users will get their Vista when they buy a new PC. Apple may be growing, but it is not growing fast enough to matter in the big scheme of things. In other words, even if what you say is true Apple remains a pimple on the butt of the elephant of computing.
