Not many would argue that global warming is NOT occurring. What is very much in debate is WHAT is causing it. Is it part of a naturally occurring cycle (that science admits has happened over and over again in earth's history) or is it caused by human activity. No doubt human activity is PART of the cause but is it the MAIN cause? Is it in the best interests of our society and nation to embark on a crusade that will seriously disrupt the economy, cause millions to become unemployed, probably curtail our freedoms, ensure "voodoo" socialism takes hold? Science also admits that global warming will be a disaster for some, a boon for others. Recent articles about the staggering increase in the number of grey whale pups being born seem to point to global warming as the catalyst. Melting arctic ice has allowed the whales to access new and better sources of food. On the other hand a recent trip to Alaska showed me that global warming is indeed happening. The winters are getting warmer and the summers hotter. The glaciers are receding. They have to truck snow into Anchorage for the Iditerod race to start. The permafrost is melting.
I haven't "jumped" anywhere. First of all I've never denied that we are undergoing a climate change an that the world is warming up. What I do question is...
