It really depends on what the 'solution' is. Millions of people displaced from coastal cities unnecessarily, nuclear power plants contagioning millions, increased poverty from another economic depression - these could be the outcomes of overreacting to a threat we don't yet understand.

If the solutions can be less drastic - create a tax on emissions to encourage alternatives, stop building on the coastlines, encourage people to move away from low lying areas - then I'm all for it. I like clean air as much as the next guy.

Yes, it is. But blind faith in science is, well, blind. Most scientific ideas have turned out to be wrong. That's the whole point of science, you keep improving your knowledge. The better the handle we have on what is happening to the climate, the better we can deal with it. Don't create a solution that is worse than the problem you are trying to solve.
