Well, transfer means to move something between two locations, which both actually could be on the same hard drive. I'm afraid that not even when interpreted literally does it rule out the possibility of a reformat-reinstall. Mind you - I'm all for you misunderstanding Alans actions, I just thought the personal attacks against Alan for your misunderstanding was inappropriate.

Whatever do you mean? Alan valuing more things than OSX' easy application management isn't a huge national secret. He has posted about lots of things about the Mac which he finds valuable.

If he wanted to transfer an application, I think it's safe to buttume that the application he wanted to transfer was in a non-corrupted state, regardless of the target of the transfer was.
