I don't get it
Frankly I'm not sure what you're referencing then. Yes it can. But doing so isn't a must in order for the current firewall to be effective. snip But that's not Windows forcing a user to do that. That's someone suggesting to the user that they do that. No. It is not a Windows weakness. It's the fault of whomever wrote the device driver. Observations of Jimmy Lee Tom Bates You think so? Ok, then it must be pretty easy to show Jim being a 'productive' poster. Feel free to post a link to any - remotely recent - JLJr posting that has... And as I commented before: If the device is already working why would someone have to update the driver? Again you act as if users are in a constant driver update cycle. I buttume to give the user the option to choose not to do so. There might be. I don't see asking as a bad thing. Why do you? Since you're admitting that it's easy then why are we even discussing this? It's a none issue...just like I said earlier. And the Macintosh solves this how? Regardless I have to question just how often such a situation exists. I can see it happening every now and then. But I seriously doubt that it happens frequently enough to be a drag on productivity. And the Macintosh solves this how? Fair enough. Please detail how OS X makes this process easier. No. I, nor anyone I know, have such a difficult time with Windows clutter. And your facts to support this can be found where? I'm still not seeing how the Windows is any different than OS X. Both use Modal dialog boxes. Both have the exact same behavior. And this is Windows' fault how? Sounds like the reminders were from the software. Thought pieces for the conscientious mind 1063 Had you been paying attention you may have seen this in a previous post...... Snit wrote... "Bottom line: people use products outside of the "intended" purpose all the time." Wally replied... It is a failure of the developer. The developer writes the un-installer. Windows just calls it. If things are left behind that's because the un-installer didn't remove them. Then it's out of scope for this discussion. Again this is out of scope for this discussion. No. They pretty much know Windows. And they don't seem to have nearly the problems with it that the Mac zealots do. Thought pieces for the conscientious mind 1061 I don't know what Steve Jobs does with charity so I won't comment on his caring about the little guy. I... I tell you what. Provide me references to current studies and I'll read them over and then comment. If you're not having any trouble with them then why are you holding them up as an example of decreased productivity? That doesn't make any sense. You're welcome.
