Is Windows 98 SE More Secure Than OS X 2424

You parrroted that in another argument when you first started posting in here.

Ok then I'll ask again, how many of those 140,000 viruses and exploits were actually found in the wild and compromised a system? When you ask someone to something, maybe you should lead by example and sift through those 140,000 peices of malware and find out how many were reported in the wild.

No we don't have to do all that. Just sort out how many of the 140,000 peices of malware are in the wild. The viruses and malware I cited for the Mac are in the wild. The one virus and then the other malware that has been found like keyloggers and tracking cookies.

I also see some Mac zealots wanting to make a distinction between viruses, worms and trojans. Now I wish they would tell me yes or no if all those 140,000 or 114,000 peices of malware are all viruses like some claim. Are any of them trojans or worms? I'm just holding you guys to the same exact standard you want to hold me to. Now is that fair?

It is easier to secure Windows than it is to secure OS X. OS X comes out of the box with security holes. In order to fix those...

According to Apple there are critical vulnerabilities that need to be patched. You mean to tell me you don't patch your system when Apple issues a patch for an exploit? Now we know from Apple that major holes exist in OS X out of the box and they issue patches for major security holes. Now why do you think that nobody exploits them? It's because Macs are only 4% of the computers out there and virus makers want to spread something far and wide. The people who want spam zombies will attack the system they're most likely to find. That system isn't OS X, As we've seen in the lone Mac virus it is possible to turn it into a spam zombie. The only reason the virus didn't do more damage was the author made a mistake in the code, OS X's design had nothing to do with it.

That's what I've been saying. You guys have it easy because nobody hardly uses OS X. However it can be a blessing and a curse. It's obscurity could cause OS X to die...
