Yeah, but this diddling about with little stuff is a waste of time. Slap the wrist here, spank the bottom there. Big...

You speak the truth! Google has no case here.

BTW, like you, when I installed IE7b2, I got Yahoo as the default search engine, since the computer that I installed it on at one time had Yahoo toolbar, which set IE6's default search engine to Yahoo. It took all of 20 seconds to add Google and MSN as search options, and 20 more seconds to add Live.com (Live.com isn't currently on MS's search providers page, but if you visit Live.com, the search discovery dropdown lights up in IE7, allowing you to add Live.com).

And I'm getting sick of Google. I generally don't use them for anything except browsing usenet groups (my gmail account gathers dust).

BTW, Apple fans have some nerve to talk bad about Microsoft regarding this issue, when Google and Apple are colluding to block alternative search providers from the Mac market altogether, as OSX's default browser supports Google *exclusively*. A user can'te even add a secondary search provider, let alone change the default. Smacks of anbreastrust violation to me, where the Google-Apple *trust* (definition of trust - "A combination of firms or corporations for the purpose of reducing compebreastion and controlling prices throughout a business or an industry") is blocking alternative search providers from the entire Mac market.
