But it is relevant to the suggestion that VDs are the new messiah that gives Linux the edge?

What silly claims? That I think they're overrated and dont use them myself?

I dont know - maybe I use a kbd faster than you, but it takes me about 1-10 of a second to alt-tab to the app I'm interested in.

One window doesnt mean I have to close apps you know : in fact I can probably have *MORE* open because there isnt an overhead for handling extra real estate.

I once tried VDs : e.g had a web browser on one, my gnus on another etc, but because they werent in front of me I kept unwittingly opening new versions - sure I could get more used to them but swapping between screens seemed a lot more hbuttle than just Z buffering between the apps on a single workspace.
