I do not know what you are trying to say here. A lot of things in NT's design were very VMS like. DEC took exception to this, and MS paid them off. They did not change anything about NT because of this. Still less did they "emulate" anything.

I am not sure what you are refering to here. But I said "VAX-VMS" because I was talking about DEC's OS for their VAX computers, not some Unix that has to implement fork() to be compatible, and damn the consequences.
