Nope. Just pointing out your cluelessness about viruses.

Only after it asked the user for the admin pbuttword. That puts it in the clbutt of phishing. It is not a virus. A virus needs to spread from machine to machine easily without the users knowledge of it.

Snit i did, and the valid criticism is about the point i had above about signing statements (did you read the links? if so...

No, the press does know. Show some proof next time.

Since when was the ILOVEYOU virus up for sale?

I doubt your veracity on these.

Guffaw!!! Again your total ignorance is showing. So, expert, what did M$ copy from the best?? Hint: they got caught trying to copy VMS. So then they couldn't copy but try to emulate VMS. And they did a very poor job of it.

Not according to Jim Allchin.

Still pushing this big myth about it being so popular that it IS the target. No, it is done because the hackers say it is so easy to do. The hackers won't bother doing one for UNIX due to the fact that the program would then become large and obvious.

Remember, the virus needs to easily spread from machine to machine. Not likely on UNIX.

That much is quite true. The majority of users are not knowledgeable,... hence the new industry created called the Geek Squad.

I don't have great wads of cash, yet I can afford the Mac.

snip- explanation of fork()'s error reporting issue I do not know who you are quoting below. This seems to be someone who has internalized the way Unix works that he...

In your mind only. To the IT pros... M$ is a disaster.

I haven't seen it.

There were a few, but then not many people bought into win3.0. It was win3.1 and then you had to buy winsock to get onto the internet. It wasn't until win95 that this changed and then the viruses started to fly.

On Fri, 12 May 2006 22:33:03 -0700, Snit You base that on the false buttumption that the UN Charter is a treaty, as it would pertain to consbreastutional law. It's not. We're essentially...

I'd say that one flew over your head.

Others as in the UNIX newsgroups. I kept your name out of it and did not disclose where your dessertation was posted. They were amazed and concluded that you must be a M$softie.

Yes, but not by you. Obviously you have fork() and exec() confused.

I've yet to hear anyone complaining of this. Seems you are harping on a dead horse there.

Must be a very old system that doesn't have enough memory to enable a few forks.

I think you are again making this stuff up.

Their version of UNIX that ran on the VAX did tho.

For your info... the VAX could boot up to 16 different o-ses if such were made available. One of the few architectures that had an elegant design.
