Well, I didn't say I live in FW but yes, I do.

The point is that in any county-wide vote, what two-thirds of Fort Wayne residents want outvotes the rest of the county. If that vote happens to be to merge city and county government, no rural population, nor the populations of the incorporated communities of Woodburn, New Haven, Huntertown, Harlan, Leo-Cedarville, Grabill, etc. or even all of them together can stop it.

And if it's only half of Fort Wayne, but they think it's a lost cause, they may not bother to vote--self-fulfilling prophecy. On the other hand, maybe it's a good thing--if Russia could have taken Poland by vote instead of by force, ....

Again, Fort Wayne far outnumbered the annexees. It's very complicated.

Tim Streater I don't think that that is a very useful way to thinking about it...

I'm not saying I know the right answer (and as a FW resident, maybe I should be glad I'm on the winning side).
